About Bill Richey

Bill Richey has spent the last 37 years teaching students of all ages the joy of science! He has been chosen 40 times by the valedictorians/salutatorians of Xenia High School as their most influential teacher.

He is a firm believer in, and has presented numerous courses and workshops on the subject of hands-on science locally, state-wide and at many national science teachers conventions. His most popular workshop is “Chemistry Demonstrations for All Ages”.

Bill has worked with elementary children each summer for 29 years providing students with the option to attend a week long Science is Fun! camp. This camp offered hands-on experiments and demos. Students and their parents looked forward to this camp each year.

Bill Richey received his B.S. in Biology and Chemistry in 1984, and a MEd in 1986 from Wright State University. Bill was selected as the 1998 Ohio Teacher of the Year, and was a 1999 Milken National Educator. Bill was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award from the College of Education and Human Services, and the College of Science and Mathematics by Wright State University in 2000. He was chosen to receive the 2007 Disney American Teacher Award.

Throughout his assemblies, he teaches and demonstrates science is all around you, and that Science is Fun!
